The swine flu has taken its show on the road and traveled to the Southern Hemisphere. But as a freshman in college that still sent home to mom Laundry, swine flu has not been completely on our own this summer. In fact, America now has more cases of swine flu anywhere in the world, and it is not flu season yet. Although most cases have been mild, there are some ominous indicators that the expected return from the flu this fall can bring more than we expected, as a disturbing effect on obesity.

First some background:

  • This H1N1 virus in particular, is a relative of the deadly virus that caused the 1918 flu epidemic.
  • Only those born before 1920 and were probably exposed to the virus when are very young seem to have some degree of immunity.
  • Influenza virus mutates very quickly. So today's the mild version would quickly become in the morning fatal version.
  • The greatest cause for concern with the flu is pneumonia. This seems to be the cause of a particularly virulent pneumonia.
  • Anecdotal evidence suggests that people who are obese, and acquire the swine flu virus, appear to be at greater risk of developing fatal pneumonia.
  • This is true even if there is no present health condition such as asthma or heart disease.
  • Even if developed a vaccine that works for swine influenza virus, it is likely that there will be plenty enough time or for everyone in the U.S. to get the vaccine before they occur flu season.

So what can you do to reduce the risk of becoming very ill?

Lose Weight Now well: this is not the time to go on a starvation diet, but every pound you lose between now and the start of the flu season will improve their health. Start by applying these simple steps to lose weight.

  • Eat more foods high in fiber. Lentils, beans, and raw vegetables fill you up more fast, that stay longer, help you lose weight and are in economy class.
  • Store food in summer while in season. Food can not sustain a fast sail fresh cucumbers, peas, corn or tomatoes. Fresh berries, peaches, plums and pears are the sweetest, most delicious and wholesome foods that have bought cakes and cookies.
  • Get rid of temptation. Wipe cookies from the cupboard and stop buying, soda, and baked goods box.
  • Replace fatty, unhealthy food choices with more benign, like whole grain crackers, pickles and nuts.
  • Everyone deserves a gift from time to time. But instead of stopping at a banana split, enjoy an ice cream cone or a smaller size chocolate truffles alone, or buy a piece of cake. Keep the treats once or twice a week.
  • Prepare meals at home. Home meals have to be more detail matters. Simple meals at home, almost always have fewer calories and be healthier than their counterparts restaurant. Reduce eating or ordering once a week each.
  • Move your body. If you have been sedentary for a while, begin by the end of the parking lot instead of near the door. Increase your activity every week. Take a walk around your neighborhood to enjoy the nice summer nights, go out and weed the garden, or wash own car.
  • Do not get frustrated. Each day you follow these tips that are improving their health and help keep line swine flu.

Boost Your Immunity: No matter what your weight, a way to stay healthy is to boost your immunity. Stimulation immunity essentially means being the healthiest it can be.

  • Choose foods that are high in nutritional value such as fruits and vegetables, beans, lentils, whole grains and low fat dairy products.
  • Eat whole foods, not processed. Choose a baked potato french fries not or potato puffs, grilled chicken on a burger or chicken nuggets, breaded, steamed vegetables with lemon pepper instead of fried onion rings or broccoli swimming in cheese sauce.
  • Reduce the sugar and salt. Excessive amounts of sugar and / or salt adversely affect immunity.
  • Using more herbs to cook. Various herbs and spices have been associated with immunity of the story. Some of the most common are: sage, garlic, rosemary, black and red pepper, cinnamon, ginger and turmeric. Not only help you stay healthy, delicious food can taste.
  • Get at least 8 hours of sleep each night. Our body needs sleep to repair and recovery!
