Acid Reflux Coughing Mucous
My 3 months. old has phlegm in throat from acid reflux. How can I delete this?
I use a nasal bulb to clear the nose that brings a little mucus when you cough but I can still hear noises in the throat area. No chest or lungs (that we have to make sure doc was not in his lungs / chest)
For acid reflux (my daughter has as well) It helps if you place a rolled blanket or towel under one end the crib mattress. It gives you an incline to help keep the acid down. also decrease the amount you feed them before bedtime. Example: instead to feed a full bottle at a time, feed 1 / 2 and then wait 30-40 minutes and feed the other 1 / 2. Keeps your tummy from getting too full, so less acid to reach beyond the esophagus. The doctor recommended me this, and it helps. Another mother also advised me to try mixing a small amount infant rice cereal to the bottle. The theory is that it will be thicker, so it will not return so easily. From what I've heard it's very popular. I tried but did not notice the difference. To help the phlegm in the throat and nose … warm baths, great job. Try closing the door on the shower curtain around you and baby to keep the steam in just sit in the bathroom with the baby for a few minutes twice a day with hot water shower and that the room gets very wet. The steam helps break up mucus / phlegm up. Johnson & Johnson makes a wonderful Baby Wash bath body time to colds. It has a bit of eucalyptus and jasmine in it. It help soothe the throat / chest and jasmine helps the baby relax. Good to use before bedtime.
